Is This A Service From Which You Might Benefit?
Working with someone who has done it before can help you be among the few businesses that sell and provide you with control over timing of the deal, and how and to whom you sell..
A glance through the Alaska Marketplace highlights that business buyers have many choices to select from when buying but only about 4 percent of the businesses listed on the site are sold in any quarter. In fact, only 1 in 5 small businesses EVER sell.
The exit portion of a business life is just as important than any other phase. Maybe more so. It has far reaching consequences for you, your family, your employees and can fundamentally alter your circumstances and color how you look back on this portion of your life.

What Do You Actually Do?
We've described our services as part career-counseling, part operational and financial heavy lifting and part marketing for buyers. We do all of this along with identifying likely pitfalls, so the exit process remains drama-free.
Every engagement is different based on the current market and your industry. We will likely address the following:
* Am I doing the right thing selling now?
* Will I get enough money to justify all my hard work?
* What if the buyer doesn't pay future installments?
* Will I be improving my financial or personal situation?
The "deliverables" may include the following, and will be outlined in the engagement offer:
* A "COAT OF PAINT" on the business (not really paint, but rather assistance correcting the parts * of the business that might appear to be troubling to a new buyer or their financial backer),
* a sales kit (industry dependent but generally one to 6 pages of at-a-glance information),
* multiple valuation recommendations,
* brief materials to prep your team of a pending sales, and
* templated legal forms (agreement to sell business, non-compete agreements and bill of sale).
